Oh, Rasoul! No need to tease me so. You know just what to say :D:D LOL. My sample is on the way, can’t get here fast enough.
I think you will truly enjoy it. Quite complex. It packs a lot of different notes in its body. Many facets. From vaguely floral as been compared to purple kinam (stretch. Big stretch) to archipelago, gp... to hints of last muddy bit of French press dark roast coffee (or crispy bacon like) Oud royale no 5, to darker filaria/ png gyrinops and yes some comparison to port moresbey. Still a stretch but it can be seen by most, I think.

Still GP is the one. The most balanced one. T would be a terrible terrible loss to Ensar Oud and their fans for if GP is not going to make a come back as a new version. And I sure hope is as balanced and as special as this one.

After 10 hour per day shifts at work, then followed up by 5-6 hours of Oud related biz...I'm finally getting some slack :D
So scent of the day for me? Back to the basics with Alhambra, man oh man has this thing morphed, the coolness of the oil really comes through this time around, and to further that, I was wearing it through gulf humidity, while watching the lunar eclipse.

Musk is the name of the game for me these days. I'm busy working on my new Sultan Musk Attar, and I just REEK. The other day I was praying between two older locals, and when the prayer was finished the gentleman on the right said, "Too heavy! Too much, the way you fumigate (literally, 'scent yourself with incense smoke'). It causes a headache!"

The guy on the left agreed with him. Rather than explain that this is due to the nature of my work, I politely excused myself and got up and left.

@Ensar i know you may not be able to answer, but what do you have in mind? Any chance you can keep it elegantly simple? Rose-Musk-Oud-Santal... Really looking forward to this.

I am still in full Musk discovery phase. Just macerated musk in Malay Oud. Crossing fingers.

What do you follow twr with? I know of only one oil: Oud Ahmad. An oud with virtually no top notes and all base. A musky oud liqueur deep note. Quiet oil. Potent but quiet. Lovely.

Few hours later...

Back to Oud Ahmad.

1) I don’t really get the kinam association and what ensar talks about as I know it. Meaning I have not tried all of different kinams. Many. But not all. So no comment there other than kinam as I know it to date, is not sensed in this oil. @Ensar tell us more. About this oil. The wood. The scent. The closest other red kinam to find to heat up to connect the dots.

2) the red terra cotta clay, tennis court note come later and delicate but wow. What beautifully earthy note. Like unearthing ancient treasure.

3) this is a reference oil. Everyone and I mean every Oud lover needs to have this oil in their library only for its reference point. Get 0.3, 0.5. You will thank yourself. like a key to a locked door, this oud unlocks a new path. A dimension not seen by many. I hear the sultani was similar. And I can say a mini twr also exists in this oil.

Oud Ahmad is a pure Kelantan distillation of sinking grade material. The reason I classified it as Kinam is due to the pristine red resin note that resembles in its saturation and high pitch only the types of notes identified as kinam by my Sifu in Taiwan. These notes will only emerge on a kyara heater and would be lost if put on high heat. Conversely, non-kinamic notes would be undetectable on a kyara heater and require higher temperatures in order to be released.

I realize the mintiness and brainfreeze aspects of traditional kinam are missing. But the note is so unique and unreplicable this had to have been a special growth tree. The resin formation simply does not display the common characteristics of Malaysian agarwood. You can identify facets of Tigerwood Royale in it for sure, but the sheer pitch and clarity of that musky resinous note is in a class by itself, hence the kinam similitude.

indeed. an oil all too unique.

Hindustan number 1

I got my sample of this masterpiece today

I applied some to the wrist and back of the neck-
At first i get very light Indian oud notes- wrapped in tingy notes of citrics-

Upon drydown it gets to the core scent - which is very refined woody

Well done Agar Aura - nice oil really- and the gen3 addictiveness is there:)

Dear Ensar
The most beautiful thing about oud Ahmad for me is the muskiness- its like it has deer musk-
I kept reading the description thinking you definitely put some musk grains with the wood distillation- to that extent its musky- unbelievable.
Regards:)

Morning...
EO Sultan Mujeeb
This oil is so potent and a masterpiece distillation, that I also think the wood used was off-the-charts!
I wonder if the Port Moresby Privée chips is the same batch.

Noon...
RBO Koh Kong
The boozey opening is nifty:)

Afternoon
EO Oud Royale 1985
A Sumatran that stood the test of time.

Kinam rouge
More cambodi/Vietnam border smelling this evening. All dressed in red of course. Bitter medicinal tea notes and those psychedelic cambodi notes found in oils like agar aura kuzen/kanzen and ksk. More kuzen in aromatic profile but more fine like Kanzen. And bitter medicinal narcotic tobacco like KSK.

Except here the opening is a few times rounder and the base is deeper. It smells aged and better balanced which I really enjoy specially at night time.
