i dont always layer, but when i do, i have been having more successes than fails.

here are a few layerings off the top of my head that have been the best for me to date:
ER 85, TWR, dot of ahmad or kannan koh. the scent of ancient times and celebration of antique and musk.
ambergris macerated and heated in sandal, then any walla oil or salty oceanic green/blue PNG oil
papuamantan with a dot or OR5 to accentuate the maroke aspect or papuamantan with dot of kinamantan if i want a brighter, more vaprous lighter green feel.

Many oils were tried today as well.

Aceh Candan is such a lovely mysterious and unique oil. The opening act and development of first 20 minutes is a roller coaster ride. Then it settles to a drydown not all too different from encens royale 85. It is not it, but close enough for sake of comparisons.

Duhl q original batch. Lovely Smokey sour choclately note. The sourness is what sets this oil apart from other smoky oils.

Kynam emerald and the scent of the arctic as the snow melts.

Agar auras south thai/north Malay oil: mardelong. I see more Thai but a different oil it is. Worthy of studying for fans of the region and style.

Then a dot of Kyara Ltd went on to remind me of the heights oud can go and Even after all these other beauties, this oil managed to manipulate time and everything stood still.

Took a couple of days off from all things fragrant...

First day back was EO Suleyman on chin. With a clear nose, this one really had me lifting off...almost to a point of discomfort. My nose wasn't ready for such an intense oil. Definitely an oil not to be worn on stache or chin. Wrist oil 100%.

Today was an oil which I seldom wear for fear of running out. Was my first EO purchase, Tigerwood 95. On a cold, wintry day, it really hit home. Wafts of oud incense and wafting camphor. Great scent to have floating around the head. I'm glad I was able to experience this one and that I have enough left to last a little while yet.

Wearing one hell of an oud tonight. Best I have had from agar aura. Royal malinau. Is the very marrow of oud. Terrific. Soul stirring. World stops. Words become meaningless. I come out of my body and observe the world from a birds eye view. Absolutely a show stopper.

Good news is his new royal maluku seems to promise the same development and future. Fingers crossed.

Ps since royal malinau is all gone the best malinau I have tried that IS available is white kinam from Ensar. I haven’t worn it in a while or side by side but from memory that unapologetic malinau greatness is on display in both oils. B50k from Ensar obviously captures that note too but humbly speaking boy white kinam and royal malinau go deeper.
