Tonight my rotation brought me back to one of the oils closest to my heart, Hainan ‘05.
Yes, I actually have a carefully crafted rotation list on my phone to keep me from using any oils more quickly than I want to, and also keep the similar profile/region oils a little separated in my use. OCD I know. Takes me about 2 1/2 months to do the whole rotation and I allow myself 2-3 from the oils on the list per weekend. I’m unflinchingly rigid when it comes to not using any oils out of order lol, except for the last 10 nights of Ramadan when anything goes. Last 10 this year I unleashed a batting order that would have made the 1927 Yankees look like a minor league squad, including my newly acquired at the time Oud Royale No. 1, Oud Sultani ‘01, Kannan Koh and Oud Ahmad. In between, if I’ve used my alloted max of 3 oils per weekend, I fill in the needed gaps with my “workhorse” oils, ones I don’t mind using up a little faster although I do love them, like People’s Pursat, Port Jaya v1, recently Oud Mostafa, but that’s going to gain enough status in my mind to warrant a rotation slot.
Anyway, cold California night, but quiet and peaceful, and nothing could have complemented some worship more beautifully. If your use of oils is primarily a supplement to spiritual times like mine, it just doesn’t get any more centering, grounding, peaceful, calming than Hainan.
