Ok, I am salivating and jealous! LOL. That sounds incredible. For some reason, a slight sourness is a favorite note for me.

Today for me is Jing Shen Lu. Wow, like nothing I have smelled before. Starts of earthy and then begins to soften to a more blue green direction. Truly unusual. I am interested to see how it progresses throughout the day.
Hey there. Keep collecting. I'm sure Ensar will release more along those lines. And I love a bit of sourness as well! This one not nearly as much sourness as Hainan 05. These kinam/kyara based oils of his are unbelievable for me! They provide me and my psyche something no others do.

Can't wait for Jing Shen Lu! How was the remainder of the day with it?

The Jung Shen Lu has a fantastic drydown. A blue/green sweetness. This is a very interesting oil. It has quite a perfumy character. Really nice. I think you will love it!

EO's Sultan Sufyan

Sultan Sufyan-My first thought was one of bewilderment. The oil has a particular familiarity while being an entirely new, exotic and unique experience. The notes are similar but so distant from the notes in oils from India, Cambodia, Thailand, Bhutan, Borneo, Malaysia, etc. It's as if this oil resides in a parallel universe, something extraterrestrial; there is a mild sweetness, medicinal and purplish blue-grey, I want to say fruity but it doesn't smell like any earthly fruit. The incense to me it is not vapory or kinamic, but rather a heavy and dense high grade medicinal resin extract.
The fruits-Imagine having a plum grown in the jungles of the movie Avatar. A plum turned inside out, where the hard shell of the pit is on outside and one has to crack that shell to get to the moist flesh. That would be an approximation of the fruit note in Sultan Sufyan, truly other worldly, bizarre and surreal. It's quite cartoonish, a caricature, nothing else like it on the typical Middle Eastern oud market, an anomaly but all oud. A glimpse into the mind of a mad scientist, beautiful.

PEARL, that is one of the best reviews ever. I want drop myself onto Pandora, search for that surreal inverted plum and gently crack it to get to that purplish blue-grey medicinal flesh. Awesome review.

bhanny beat me to the punch. Seriously, this is an epic review. The funny thing is, that while reading it, I kept saying: yes, yes, yes, YES!!! It is so dead on!! Unbelievable way to put words to a smell I could not figure out how to describe.

Today I put on EO tigerwood95. I think this is a complete oud from top to bottom. The fragrance is so unique almost like the great grand daddy of the aroha kyaku but more beautiful notes. I am glad I have it in my small collection.

Hey koolaid79! I think Tigerwood95 is one of the best values around. And amazing oud. I would totally agree it is complete, highly resinated and old school. Very nice. Glad I have it as well.

Went with Papau GL early today. Nice one by Feel Oud. Tonight needed something clean and serene. Kynam Emerald. Pure, crystalline seawater and kinam.

Today I put on one of my all time favorites which is the Assam Kinam. Don't have enough to say about this oud. I think it's the most complete Assam Oud Ensar has ever produced. I bought the bottle in 2008 and still have more than 1/2 left. This is one of the best ones I own.

Today I am trying out Scasa Saat wild Cambodian from Grandawood. Unmistakably Cambodian. Has that sour/sweet wood characteristic. I have to say, it is very nice.

@koolaid79 - Assam Kinam sounds divine. Seriously amazing.

@kesiro - First I've heard of Granadawood. Looks interesting.

Today I went with the great Port Moresby. Super green jungly kinam.

How are you doing my brother? The Port Moresby has been on my bucket list for a while!

The grandawood stuff seems to be really good quality. Not artisinal like Ensar's or Taha's offerings, but definitely pure and solid for everyday wear. Their kalamantan oil has a very nice woody smell.

I'm good brother, hope you are as well! Yeah, Moresby is amazing. Totally should be on a bucket list. Kynam Emerald is along a similar vein. Love them both. Emerald is green as well. Should probably have said crystalline seawater and green kinam.

Doing fine, thanks! Just finishing a nice weekend with my wife in San Francisco. I really need to get my hands on the P.M. at some point. Did score 3gm of oud royale 85 for now which I am happy about.

Awesome on SF with the wife! And on OR85! I've got 2 bottles of it and it's an amazingly deep, raw and real oud.

Today I went with Kinam Rouge. A true thing of beauty. Lots of the deep, sweet, medicinal, red fruit. But then add that kinam note I'm absolutely ADDICTED to.

Borneo 50K today. Borneo 3000 is my pinnacle Borneo. There is nothing quite like it IMO. But it's a legend. Difficult to source, if you can, it's likely worth whatever is being asked for it. But 50K isn't terribly far behind and it is readily available. It's a sweet, berried, ethereal breeze. A breeze over slightly minty, honeyed, vanilla woods. I probably don't wear it as much as I should. It's that nice.

B50K is just incredible in its depth and projection for sure.

Today it is Kinam Rouge for me. Just beautiful stuff!

I was transferring my AA Mukhallat- Java stash into different bottles. Got a few "free swipes" of it. Ample dose of jungle-ish notes, and medicinal-like woody dry down (perhaps due to the vetiver). Whiffs of it float up to my nose every now and then until morning. No honey, no fruits, pure jungle and wood. Although it has no citrus notes, it is strangely refreshing yet grounding at the same time.

Some friends had a swipe and said "Smells like wet jungle earth" , "What's this oil? It smells like the jungle". Maybe some petrichor in it? Though I've never smelled pure mitti attar before.

Today I put on EO Oud Mustafa 5. I first smelled this Oud back in July when I was attending a prayer in the month of Ramadan. Until this point, my Oud passion had gone dormant for about 6 years. I would look in my glass shelf charishing some of the early Oriscent Oud's I got (Borneo 3000, Borneo 4000, Royal Kinaam, Asaam Kinaam, Purple Papua, and Malay Royale)

The Oud Mustafa 5 was that torch which lit the passion again and as soon as my friend put on a swipe of this, I started sniffing for the next 2 hours. I remember, I was at a late night dinner with my brothers and friends and I spoke who is interested in ordering some Oud from Ensar and the next thing I know, I am chatting with Ensar after 5 years. We ordered 8 bottles in that sitting and I got the Mustafa 5.

A very unique Oud which is so beautiful with a long silage. This Oud will always be close to my heart because it awoke my passion again (which I think i need to put back to sleep :) ) and I got a few more Ouds after that purchase like the Borneo 2000, Kaliman Kala, Satori Kensho, Aroha Kyaku, Oud Yusuf, Jing Shen Lu, Tigerwood95, and Saumanasa.
