Today I had multiple swipes of Alhambra from our old friend Alkhadra. I was initially bummed as I thought I forgot to bring a sample vial of something we me to the office. And today was a trying day. To my delight, I realized I left my bottle of this oil there.
A Vietnamese oil with a different vibe then others I am familiar with. It conjures images of and ancient, dusty, apothecary, with old artifacts and trinkets. Still dry and warm air with rays of sun peeing through dusty windows into the unlit corners. An old leather chair sits next to a desk with old papyrus with fountain pen written text.

pilipina no 1: in one word: regal.

no edges. nothing out of place. the harmony is unreal. i see a picture of a kid Lama. youthful but mature and deep beyond his years. and the notes? plenty going on here. a tarragon infused amber honey note, meadow of wild flowers of all kind and many other hard to pinpoint notes. but all come at you slowly with grace, and utmost elegance. an a super interesting part is that literally the oil smells 100% like that of the wood. scary copy cat. to the dot! it would have been sooooo interesting to see what kind of oil woudl come out if the same material was in hands of other distillers. ensar's bitter mind buzzing signature here would just take this oil to above and beyond levels.

I'll wear some musky type oud this evening such as EO Tigerwood Royale & combine it with EO Iris Noir.

Afternoon was blissed out by EO China Sayang & EO Nhek 1976 together.

ORSL. Keep coming back to it. A little addicting.
Make sure you save some for aging, it is excellent now, but should be killer in a decade.

My Sotd...Sultan Afnan
Sometimes I feel badly when I buy gems from others, after those gems have been long since sold out. They’ll probably regret it. I know I had a few regrets.....my spare OM5, my only Koh Kong 76. But it’s a give and take. Finding some Sultan Mujeeb is just the most phenomenal addition to my collection. I think it’s my favorite oil of all time.

CS & N76 sounds divine

Nha Trang. Oh boy. What can I say? This is not the bitter medicinal Vietnamese oud a la K1 or royal guallam. This leans more to the Kyara LTD side. Just a beautiful, pure, extremely introspective and meditative oil. And this is from just the first dab, 5 mins after opening the box. This is going to take multiple wearings to decode its secrets. For now, this is a less is more kind of experience. You cannot believe how beautiful it is given it minimalist style.
