@RobertOne I made the mistake of revering my legends samples a little too much. I once applied Borneo 50k for the most important meeting of my life and left it after that. Now it is sadly oxidised.

I think if you approach it with the respect it demands, and with a still mind and soul, you cannot go wrong. Don't make my mistake!

Many blessings to you sir, and I hope it is a wonderful experience.
When you say oxidised, what do you mean by that if you don't mind me asking? Did the scent profile change?

Yesterday went with Kynam Emerald. Such an treat. Kesiro says whale, I will give him oceanic, perhaps some ambergris. But the oceanic vibe is interlaced with beautiful green kinam. This kinam grows sweet and the base is super longlasting. There is a crispness to this one, pristine, crystalline. Amazing that this is Malaysian and not Papau/New Guinea based.

Last night went with Piara. Simply lovely Borneo/Malaysia blend by Adam (correct me if I'm wrong). Can still smell the remnants this morning, 10 hours later, just lovely.

It's difficult to say @kooolaid79 - it's like the oil has become a shell of itself. Gone are the scintillating top notes and the vivid progression, and instead there is rather a flat and lifeless affair. Somehow you can still smell the echoes of its legendary nature, but the oil is hollow.

Dang. Thanks for explaining that.

Piara it is, then for today.

Review in the usual place after I get back from my workshop (playground)

Freezing might be another. Experiments are needed on this to ensure that the character of the oil is not damaged by this.
Not that I have any evidence to support this, but I would not freeze these oils. I am sure that high heat would be bad for them but freezing and crystallizing the oils can't be good. Refrigeration on the other hand may be interesting. For me, room temperature without too much fluctuation is best.

I don't know much about this thing though ... in winter I found only Oud Mostafa No 5 became thick like jam/jelly among my bottles.

China Sayang today. I reviewed this oil earlier and my admiration continues to increase. The scent has so many layers, top to bottom. The dry down gives a woody kinamish note which is just fantastic. Chinese ouds are very different but I love them!
Man. Just put some Sayang on after bath time. This stuff is unreal good. Compiles all I've loved in the various Chinese oils and dries down to a heavenly Sinensis woody resin.

Today was going to be tough. Final day of rough contract negotiations, heavenly Kynam No1 got me through. This was "the" oil that changed it all for me. "Graduate studies" Ensar told me way back. I had no idea, probably still don't, but I'm learning!

He was fairly cryptic, wasn't he? Actually I believe it's from several jungles, though not 100% certain. It is just dang good. If I could only have one Chinese oil, oh have mercy, this would be it.

The China Sayang is indeed stellar - Chinese meets Hindi sort of thing - very deep oil, and the Hindi element is so beautifully interwoven - no obtrusive barnyard, blends in beautifully..

I don't think refrigeration of these oils would be a good idea either. From my own experience with rose oil and so on when you use the oil and take it out of the fridge their is condensation and this could damage the oil but maybe if the oil has no air space and is not being used maybe it would be alright but not 100% percent sure. Please anyone else give your thoughts on this.
I have given this a bit of thought, and rather disturbingly, have settled on a Lovecraftian solution.

Herbert West, Reanimator to be precise.

Turn of the century sturdy glass syringes with nicely broad stainless steel needles. The condensation and oxidation problems would be intrinsically solved with the only downside being nightmares of such magnitude for anyone seeing us apply a 'scent injection' it's going to be Tena time all round.

I have not been in a lab for a very long time but surely there must be equipment out there with similar properties?

I don't want to send poor @kesiro and @bhanny back to their medical school to break into their college museums at night stealing antiques (and possibly discovering the dean i.f.delicto with a jar of eyes e.t.c., running away, being diced up in formaldehyde) but I will if I have to for the benefit of all of us.

HAHA i have not read any of H.P Lovecraft's work or seen the movie made from one of his characters in the Re-Animators but the scenario you painted brought a funny picture to mind and quite amazing timing on your part from the dream i had the other night!
Just don't accuse me of being outside your window with binoculars, that's all I ask.

Just had a thought...

If one of us slips with the needle and we end up injecting some, odds on that once a month that our beards lengthen, we prowl wooded areas and scratch at the bark.

Next day we awake with no memory, reeking of sap and sardines.

A Wereoudh.
