Today is Kenmei, what truly smells like Vietnam Special K's baby brother. Unmistakable Vietnam oud scent. IMO, Vietnamese oud is the Rolls Royce of ouds. Gorgeous, stately, dignified and classy. The Kenmei does not have kinam in the forefront like VSK but neverthesless is a very satisfying Vietnamese oud.

Sultan Afnan. Small sample from dear friend Uday Ji. This is the OUD right here. Great amalgam of different woody nuances smokey, incensy, leathery, balsamic, fruity. Full of thrills. This makes modern oud desserts smell like fruity cupcakes.
An extremely complex and beautiful scent profile. The oceanic notes which evolve after an hour or so is mesmerizing. So glad you got to try it!

True sir. My sort of Oud. The transitions beneath the dense fog of incense. Mesmerising. Like finding the city of Z and getting lost in it forever. Lol. Bravo.

Dr. H is certainly a special one, sad I missed it except for 1 wee bottle.

We spent the day in Philly, avoiding cheesesteaks, comically bad drivers and heatstroke.

I totally slathered on TWIS Island Of Cyprus and enjoyed it immensely in the heat. I gave a woman a couple of swipes as she was noce to the monsters and she asked for the website. Also tried to tell her about hreat Oud but she confessed that she was put off with her man wearing it, which I assume is the mostly artificial poop. I love directing people to real fragrance.

Sotd is Han Yellow (Burmese Oil). Spiritual experience. Just a little drop and it felt like my mind was rushing through deep jungles, flowing streams, incense chambers and then finally back to a monastery in Leh. Woah.

Hey Nikhil, that sounds great. Where did you acquire the Han Yellow? Not familiar with it.

Today is Chugoku Senkoh. This is a single note symphony of such beauty. Very meditative oil.

Sotn Laos 95 by Agarwood Assam....oh man. I was wondering why there's no muskiness. No salted butter which cracks my head. Instead a get a bitter green mentholic balm like that of a quality Indonesian oil. The green bitterness is rising with negligent oudy dried fruit undertones. There's a force to this. It's creating heavy green pulses of elusive oudiness. Reminds me of Papuan by EO sort of.

Today I tried the one and only, the super duper, extra ordinary, something to die for, the holy grail of Oudh, the extra ordinary, the King of Oudh, something I almost fainted while smelling the first time 5 years ago, the Holy Oudh Royale number 1.
I am just so happy that I got to put a tiny dab on my arm and it's been close to 7 hours since applying and the smell is still so alive and kicking.
This Oudh cannot be talked about enough and it's a mind changing Oudh. Simply perfect is all that can be said!

Hahahahahahahaha. No not yet brother. My cousin bought a bottle way back in the day and he's hosting me in Seattle. I just happened to ask him if he still had the blue cap bottle. He said royale. Ahhhh yes that one. So I very carefully took the size of a flys (amount) head and enjoyed it. :D:D:D:D:D

Today was the tale of beautiful and funky. The beautiful was this morning's scent - Sultan Leather Attar. I swear this oils is getting better by the week. The rose and the oud are so well balanced yet you can easily pick them out. Dry down = bliss.

Was craving a little funky tonight so I reached for Royal Bengal from Adam. Burning Bengal incense with animalic, but in no way fecal funk, mixed with a deep sour citrus accord. Awesome.
