Oud Mostafa 5 - applied this last night before bed - barnyard style Hindi's I usually use at night, often before bed - there is something very warm and cozy about them, the animalics or some such.. Anyhow, this is a favorite of mine in this category - the barnyard element is mild and very well integrated with the other notes, and the overall scent is quite unique, very unlike other oils in my collection..

This morning - Maroke 2004 - this was my favorite oil for awhile (before I gave up on the idea of a favorite oil lol) - it was quite a revelation at the time, as it was the first Papuan or Maroke oil I had encountered. I put it on this morning to compare it to Archipelago 2008 from yesterday - both are beautiful oils, though Maroke 2004 is hard to beat - medicine forest elixer!

I got Adam's Tawau al Awwal in queue today. Perhaps its my nose but definitely way more classic Borneo than I last remembered. Minty, airy. Really a nice example of Borneo Oud if someone is interested in trying one.

Ok, so back to what we all love.
Need to focus on getting some surgeries done today and put aside the drama. Yoshi has always given me a ability to clear my mind and get some clarity. A little swipe on the chin underneath and he surgical mask and I'm good.

Went with Chamkeila and Tan Xiang No1 today, both from Taha. The former an amazing 3rd gen (my favorite of his) Hindi. Zero barn, but lots and lots of awesome resinated topnotes. The latter a super nice sandalwood with a base to die for.

Oh and the winner of the great Yunnan showdown? Too close to call, I am actively recounting ballots, but I think there will need to be a rematch.

Tonights matchup? Hmmm. Going to have to think on that one.

@kesiro. Good call. Definitely would trump the two Yunnans, even as awesome as they both are. Hainan 2005 is just special.

The Tan Xiang 1 is awesome! Chamkeila is really nice too, but the sister oil Shano Shokat to me is the star of those 2.

@Gaianmind. Full disclosure. I am not the best at individual note identification. But I used to have a few different tobacco absolutes. Sniffing Chankeila now, definitely can pick some similarities out.

I did the beautiful EO's Aroha kyaku. I recently started burning Oud chips and I am loving the before and after smell. This oil is that plus has a sweet secret aroma which comes out about 45 mins to an hour.
In the evening I used another beautiful EO's Satori Kensho. A greenish and aloe wood aroma. Just perfect for the beautiful temperature here.

Hey kool! The Satori Kensho is a cultivated Kyen oil right? Any comparison to Jing Shen Liu ?

Today is a wonderful day as my hand is blessed with the aroma of Ceylon No.2. A gorgeous smell...to me it appears supremely refined and elegant. Crystal green with tropical sweetness.
