Eid Mubarak everyone

Eid SOTD - ASO Al Rubai'ie + Agarwood Assam Crassna Intense [emoji7]

This is exactly what attracted me to this gift(Oud) from Almighty

The pure woody feel on a layer of some spices, fruitiness, florals ... the Kinamic vibe of Al Rubai'ie is heavenly

Tiny Swipe of EO - Oud Royale 1 ... very lucky to get this sample from a dear friend as a gift ..

What can I say? clearly shows difference in quality of raw materials back then and now ...

This Oud is something else [emoji7]

Swipe of this Hainan Oil (distiller name withheld on request) -

It's like putting a top quality Hainan Sinensis chip on low heat... and wait on those cinnamon, clove and other spices to talk to you.... and when u think thats it .... this is all the oil has to offer... u start getting whiffs of bittersweet kinamic nuances...

the viscosity is semi thick perfect for beast longevity.

This is a top level distillation with very high grade Hainan Sinensis in my humble opinion..

Well Oud-Dan, it’s a wild Papuan (Gyrinops/Filaria) with an overall bronze/purple profile colour.
I pick up pepper, mint, coriander, petrichor, fennel, hops, ambergris, champaca, camphor, frankincense, santal, vetiver, and myrrh.
I’m sure it has deep, healing properties for body, mind, and spirit.

Swipes of EO’s Aroha Kush - an adventure in everyday life! With top notes of creaming soda, guava, cacao, and petrichor, mellowing into tamarind, cranberry, molasses, pepper, and tobacco, on a base of sencha and santal. Its overall profile colour is deep red.

Another great description Anthony! Thanks for the prompt Oud-Dan!
I also really love those unique EO Marokes, always among my favorites: the new Aroke Roshi, my first: Xiang Liao Ling and good old Sultani 1990. So rich, complex and of the deep jungle. Understandable how their predecessors (before I came to know Oud) are now legends.

@Anthony You know, swipes is the operative word, and I admire that you're bold enough to do so.

I think too often we tend to just dab these oils on, a single dot to suffice for personal enjoyment, just enough to take 'sips' of throughout the day or to 'study.'

Maybe you've been there too, lifting your hand to take a whiff, and again two minutes later... and again.

By the third or fourth time you start to look around to see if anyone else notices...

You start sneaking whiffs and trying to find inconspicuous ways of accomplishing the task so as not to look like an addict; applying it to the tips of your fingers so it looks like you're itching your nose, or going full intensity and putting it straight on your philtrum...

But as the Oudept that you are, take a full swipe of that oud... actually I challenge you, take two! And if it's the artisanal ouds that I know and love, I can guarantee you're in for an experience like never before, and that your life will be enriched thereby.

I've heard it all too often as of late, ouds like Kusuma and Aroha Kush 'rival the likes of Oud Yusuf,' and I get it, there are similarities, but when I pry a little further I find out dots of Oud Yusuf were worn compared to swipes of the other... so what would two generous swipes of Oud Yusuf, or Wang Liao Kuo reveal?

Well I say it's time to see just how far down the rabbit hole goes!

I can hear it already...

"Why oh why, didn't I take the blue pill..."

SwipeS is the way to go. If I'm wearing an oud properly i will use a good 4 full swipes - covering the back of each hand and them up the entirety of each arm. Heck, maybe even under my chin and then a swipe onto my fingertips to rub into my shirt. So yea maybe 6-7....
I have a ton of oil and haven't made a dent in most. Loads of 0.3mls that I've bought well over a year ago that still seem full.
I swipe with reckless abandon
