As I emerge from the rubble of emails I've been neglecting the past week (sincere apologies to everyone!), nothing better to stimulate the brain than a swipe of Kambodi 1976, and a pot of high mountain oolong.... If I wanted to wear oils that are older than me exclusively, I'd be limited to just this one! :D
Please don't make yourself that old, your NOT. We need you stay young and healthy, for all of us to stay healthy and sane at the same time by continuing to produce the finest oil available from mother earth. :)
A beautiful Cambodi from the artisan himself wearing it, tells you you enough!

SOTD: My new friend; Pursat 2005.
Is this what my previous seufis were supposed to smell like?
This is gorgeous. Nicely balanced and calming. Suiting my morning perfectly.
Sitting in the sun having breakfast this morning, eating homemade cherry pirogies, a swipe on each wrist.
Take a bite of pirogies, put down knife and fork, smell wrists, repeat. Espresso in queue.
Sundays!!!

Today I put on the beautiful Oud Mustafa 5. Words can't describe this beautiful piece of art. For those who don't have this Oudh, please purchase it quickly as it is almost sold out. Consider it as a must get Oudh if you want to know Oudh done right!
I've followed your lead, brother kool. Double swipe to begin the day.
Beautiful, tranquil medicine.

Due to flu or some other bug that the kids passed on to me I have been bunged up until today.

So, SOTD pour moi is FO Trat Selvagio with rose.

It certainly seems like a sweet welcome back into the fold.

Lol, you gotta go way further back to find an oil older than me! But tonight it will be K76, and perhaps several cups of African Roobois tea.

Ensar Oud's Pursat 2005

e·the·re·al
əˈTHirēəl/
adjective
1. extremely delicate and light in a way that seems too perfect for this world.
"her ethereal beauty".
synonyms: delicate, exquisite, dainty, elegant, graceful.

Ethereal, not light but rather seeming too perfect for this world, certainly not as simple as breaking it down by notes. Pursat 2005 is creamy, not like berries and cream or anything remotely dairy. Not the creaminess of certain notes in sandalwood but rather the creaminess of Frank Sinatra's voice; thick, rich and smooth. Pursat 2005 takes a while to open up on the skin but when it does has good projection and sillage. As far as longevity, it clearly lasted through ghusl.
I just got a sample of this beautiful Cambodi and like PEARL has already mentioned this Oudh is light and not heavy as other Ouds but wow you know for sure you got a Cambodi Oudh on with this one. The opening has something of vanilla custard but not any custard you buy at the grocery store. Here I am talking about looking for the most expensive restaurant in the city which is known for serving some of the best deserts which are out of this world. Ordering a beautiful custard filled cake/parfait. The middle hints going towards the cambodiness of the wood and by the end of the Cambodi wood rises above all and greets you with such happiness, that it becomes difficult to put your hand down. Bravo Ensar for creating another magnificent piece of art!

Archipelago today. Vanilla sweetened cedar and jungly green foliage. Simple. Beautiful.

Tonight. Chamkeila. No barn Hindi. Not that I've ever done this, but it FEELS like this one smells exactly like a freshly felled malaccensis, chalk full of resin of course.

Today I was blessed again by trying another beautiful marvelous Oudh by Sidi Ensar. The Asaam 3000.
I don't think a person who didn't know much about Oudh can tell this is an Indian Oudh. That too from Asaam. The opening is of some beautiful spices which I can detect namely: green cardamon, black cardamon, whole black pepper, all spice, nutmeg, mace, cinnamon, and star anise. The flowerish aroma which is emulating reminds me a very beautiful flower which is called Cestrum nocturnum (Raat ki rani).
To top it off is where the beautiful Indian notes come from I would say using some of the finest Asaam wood available.

My favorite Hindi is the Asaam Kinam but the 3000 is way on top of the list also. Beautiful creation by Ensar. Thank you again for allowing my nose to smell this beauty!

I love night blooming Jasmine (Cestrum), they will live just fine next to a house in Cali but defoliate in winter. Since you live in Cali try a brugmansia (angels trumpet) next to the house protected from frost, or try a Boronia (the red/black flowered one) out in the yard, the scent is so close to ambergris you will flip out.

Sultans Succor. I just put up a mini review in the Reviews section. This oil is a tour de force from a Taha. Forget the pretty top notes layered on more top notes. This thing is a beast of an oil but with immense class and manners. Man 'o man this one is amazing. Major bummer it is all gone!!!!

Today being a muggy and rainy day in Los Angeles, I decided to bring out the beast and put on the holy Asaam Kinam. Oh my it's such a beautiful powerful Hindi Oud. One of my absolute favorites.
I think when it smells other Ouds around, it pushes the game to the next level. I had a colleague ask me literally a few mins ago, what is that beautiful aroma you have erupting from you. Just a Don, that doesn't like to me be messed around with.
