do you wear oud as a scent or to be transported? to be moved and feel like a jolt of lightning has hit your soul. if only that transportation quality would do, then you be wise to look up what agar aura is about to put out: two mean oils by names of Malaya (think Ayu on steroids or a friend of purple kinam (that purple and that cola nut note is much rounder and fatter than ayu, while the rest of the scent is different from PK, both have a certain transportative quality) and the other meaner oil is royal maluku 2.0 (ceram/seram) source wood. butter butter and more orris butter notes meet philipina 1 notes and other general cummingiana notes but there is a feminine beauty underneath it all that is captivating.

what a lovely time we live in to see true artisans putting their aesthetic stamp on different regions and turning up oils that are bliss in a bottle. i dont mean to sound cocky, far from it, i remaina student for life, but i have not been truly wowed lately by many oils. last amazing oil i tried that had my soul leave my body was Oriscent Papuya. today that happened again with royal maluku.
Ahem...
Royal Guallam had you head over heels. :)

Any idea when is the release of these?

Man, I wish I could get the truly soul stirring effect from oil as often as I get from mostly/all natural perfumery and heating wood. That has only happened to me twice with oil at this point. Then again, I haven’t dipped into the world of ASO or Ensar’s $500 and up range yet. I’m guessing those more frequent experiences are yet to be had...OR I haven’t been using oil enough. Not quite sure.

Well said Rasoul. Oud oils are for my personal enjoyment. However, I’m a fan of real oud perfumes and there are still not enough of them done right!
Thank you kindly for mentioning those oils. I won’t be wearing them until about June. Just going to peek in on them monthly to learn until then. It’s been good luck for the most part so far with sourcing oils (and attars, perfume) from the market leaders and a few other sellers. Of course there’s a learning curve (with mistakes and expense) to this endeavor. Reading back history, discussions and reviews here has been helpful.

Although a novice myself, speaking of EO I hope you can get your nostrils on Sultan Suleyman and Purple Kinam. Each one a headful of oud wonderment and rapture. Lol.

after all those heavy hitter, piercing, fresh, terpene overdose oils yesterday i needed a grounding oil. soft, round, comforting, delicious and mellow. EO naga3K for the win. non sour, non barn, clean, tea, honey, soft leather, spiced pipe tobacco nagaland. sweet and delicious.

i should say that i did try taha's kencana 3.0 beforehand and it just wasnt agreeing with me. the bitter, root veg, top soil, smoke and bonfire note of this oil is not for me. i also smell more microcarpa and qualities found in kekasihku than malinau in this oil. my 2 cents.

truer and wiser words have not been spoken. both are a must. and to see a 3rd way of this whole malay fireworks, i throw in AA malaya as well. very different yet fully relevant and a must study for those who cant get enough of the purple kola nut spiced malay note. there are some still notes int his very young oil, so be patient with it. but underneath it all is a whole world that buzzes.

peopel are sleeping on this beauty. i found the barn to actually be very well integrated and not all that heavy. the manipur/imphal muana note is wonderful. i die for that honeybush tea note and gentle creamy spiced tea latte.
This is my first experience of an EO Indian origin oil and I'm super impressed.... I have all of Agarwood Assam collection for my Indian Oud cravings and having Zak stay two buildings away always helped in getting the oils/wood delivered within a day.....

But this Oil is different it doesn't have the loud funk but it still has that Indian Opening trying to explode but it CANT I guess that's where Ensar's touch shows... I think its warm, super warm with like some warm Indian desert being served in a FARM house ....

I think I may really consider going for more of this oil before it disappears

Then I can strongly and confidently recommend royal Imphal, Bhutan superior or royal Bhutan (both pretty close to one another) and best for last and if you can fight it off Ensar’s claws: Bhutan red.

Night Swipe-
Agarwood Assam Oud Naga

Barnyard opening but what I get with it is someone brewing some Indian Tea may sound weird but I like this note in Indian oils ...

Tea note Haha I've never heard of any reviewer experiencing this in Hindi Oils

the newly released Aceh candan from EO.

first off zero similarity to two other sumatran aceh oils i have tried from other venors: feel oud virgin sumatra island and Agar Aura: Ambrosia.

here is my "live" reporting or in other words putting any thought that came to my mind to words as i swiped. unfiltered.

unique and bizarre.
light, watery like consistency despite the super dark color.
some unique never before smelled floral note and that note is dialed up to the max.
as ensar mentioned, no sign of oud initially. it comes later i guess. hard to believe.
this oil also doesn't immediately yell an ensar oud oil. nor does it really spring to mind anyone else's style.
there is a beauty of a note and something not so pretty about this oil. indoor flower/plant store scent?
there is something brewing underneath. the flower is taking shape to be a bit more noticeable. is not violet, is not iris, or Lilly or lotus but the closest thing to it is a lotus note. a hybrid blue/purple lotus.
10 min later
aha. the scent is that of a pond. some stagnant water, light algae formation note intertwined with narcotic lotus. not exactly lotus, but close. this may not read pleasant but it actually is quite comforting and takes one's mind and body to the memories of summer days in the tropics sitting by the pond cooling down late in the evening.
5 min later.
what!!!?? jasmine sambac? the floral scent here is offspring of a flower from sambac mating with an unknown purple flower, but the jasmine quality is 80% of the dna make up.
and....
here we go. encens royale 85 shows up to the party. unmistakable to my nose. a bitter unique green, antique-like note and that resinous oudy core. isnt exactly ER85 but what i imagine ER85 would be like when it was young and perhaps distilled with a bit more flare and top note focus.
jasmine gone.
anything even remotely floral gone.
pond gone.
this bubbling resin and a scent not all that different from sumatora 96 chips is doing a solo act.
2 hours later. dry down is very oudy oud. that uniquely woody resinous clinging to your sinuses note.

closing remark:
HUGE vertical and horizontal complexity here. as a scent to wear, I love it and I dont. i am undecided. i would like to study it again and again, i cant wait for the next quiet downtime to go deeper and see if the experience repeats itself or reveal new facets. i am also pretty excited to see how this one will age.

Back to Aceh Candan. Again. 4th wear. I love it for the mysteries it’s trying to hide.

The latest wear showed me hints of honey, marjoram and butter being cooked together. Think that note we have seen in tawi tawi/Sulawesi cummingiana wood/oils. I also now see a note similar to that of ORSL. Super subtle though. And for a short brief period. None of the high pitched walla or the salty notes. Also none of the cardamom and guava. Just a certain quality that I can’t quite explain. yet!

I am really digging it and this unique oil is growing on me aplenty. Pretty darn complex.

Looking forward to re-try in a few days and see what happens after the oil settles and we get to know each other better
