For the first part of the day I put on the beautiful Oud Mustafa 5. Truly a Gem of a Oud in my opinion. For the 2nd part of the day I put on Jing Shen Lu. Like bhanny said Very Green and me personally I think of it being a type of aloe wood. Just soothing and calming for all situations!

Strong work! O.M. No. 5 is a personal favorite. There is just something about it. Will probably go with that in the morning but there are too many choices.

That is a most beautiful collection and I can see why you have a tough time deciding what to go with! If my collection is bigger, its only because I've been collecting longer. Yours is amazing and you should be quite proud to have it!

That's a fine collection you have there, with a variety of regions and styles represented. IMO every collection should have at least one of what some may call a "classic" Hindi oil, or at the very least sample a few to see what they're are about.

Must have slept in barns in another life because that scent note has grown on me immensely. LOL

Crazy isn't it?!? A few years ago I never would have imagined smelling like a barn would be so amazing and peaceful. At the end of this past summer, on a lazy Saturday or Sunday, I had just taken a swipe of both OM5 and Aku Akira, it had been a bit since I had listened to either. I had planned on staying in for the day, but my boys suddenly begged me to take them to the pool to meet one of their friends and his dad, who happens to be a good friend of mine. My friend and I were sitting next to each other poolside watching our boys play in the pool for a bit. There was a steady breeze and he was probably two feet directly downwind from me. I kept hearing him take these quick sniffs. Within a few minutes he asked, "does anybody else smell a petting zoo?" I took it as the best compliment.

Would agree with PEARL, especially given your fondness of OM5, a nice mild/moderate barn Hindi might be a good idea down the road. I often wear the more "friendly" stuff while at the hospital (though some of the smells here make even the more rancid Hindis smell like roses I tell you), then after bathing my boys at night I will often swipe my Hindi or Chinese oils that carry a bit of an animal kick.

Absolutely. Its been quite a bit, but Assam Organic was nice with a decent level of barn (Ensar or others please correct me if I remembering incorrectly). Two of my personal favorites are legends, but if you can find them, Oud Nuh and Oud Isa are both dynamite. I probably favor Nuh, but if you can find either, you can't go wrong. They both have an amazing sweetness in addition to a mild level of barn.

I might have a few others, let me think on it, PEARL or anyone else, do you have any other thoughts?

My mistake. He uses the same cone shaped plastic vials for samples. A perfume maker by the name Sultan Pasha. He doesnt make oud though. On ebay UK his account is scents-rarity I think. One of his best and most sought after attar, is aurum d'angkor, which he said he searched for the perfect oud for years and finally found the perfect match, Ensar's oud..Encens d'angkor if I'm not mistaken
