This is the oud oil everybody remembers. It’s the reason many people started to wander into the world of agarwood oil, and the reason many people still do.

Yes, this is our second extraction of the Borneo 3000 – arguably the most talked-about and wildly celebrated oud oil of our times.

Sumptuous notes of wild pears and raspberries dipped in a luscious river of honey reveal the sensual allure at the heart of this oil.

Being a pure, wild harvested Agarwood oil of extraordinary quality, Borneo 3000 opens that door to an unending love affair where you can explore its sumptuous aroma for hours on end, each day discovering a new tantalizing note that wasn’t there before.

Without a doubt, Borneo 3000 is the oud oil that qualifies as an aphrodisiac. For this reason, it’s the one agarwood fragrance women find utterly irresistible.

Its rich, smooth aroma appeals to Western fragrance lovers who have little experience with artisanal oud oil, making it the ideal first purchase. So, if you don’t know where to begin, stop. With Borneo 3000, you don’t have to worry about what you’re getting yourself into. This oil’s record speaks for itself.

To seasoned oud lovers, not to have a bottle on hand at all a times is out of the question, as it has become the universally accepted benchmark against which all other ouds are compared.

Borneo 3000 is bottled bliss, with the sweetness of vanilla, the fruitiness of figs and wild raspberries, the floral tonality of white water lilies and white lotuses adrift on fragrant waters, and the decadence of the most tantalizing agarwood note you will want to die for.

The only question that leaves is, should you just get one for yourself or should you get him one, too?

Distillation date: 2005.
My first and most beloved Oudh I have!

Assam Organic.
This is really helping me reevaluate my other Hindis that I have.
Loving it more and more with each trial, especially potent on the beard.
Anyone care to share their other favourite Hindis of late with me here, or direct me to a discussion on the matter?
I've tried a bunch of Hindi oils and three vintages of Assam Organic IIRC and you can't go wrong with any AO. Is there any other Hindi Oil in particular you wanted to know about, maybe someone has or has tried them. Although the pendulum of convo here often swings more towards Kinam/kyara and oils from other exotic locales, believe me, many of those same cool cats have stock piles of Hindi oils, I know because I've tried many by way of their generosity.

Short list of some favorites and ones I like would be, Hud, Hudhayl, Shano Shokat, Semkhor, House of Misk unreleased Assam, Nari, VSOP, Chamkeila, Camasa, Royal Bhutan, Hastakshar Kalakassi, Yunus, Shuayb, Zachariyya, Qamar, Isa, Mahabali, Yoshi.....let me take a breath

Lalitya, Royal Imphal, Muana Supreme, Muana LTD, Nuh....you get the idea.

@Ensar i had no luck in finding the posts on Borneo 3000 no2, can you please confirm the difference between the original version and the second batch.
From post #50 Reviews.

Ensar - @bhanny the two distillations were markedly different, so far as raw materials went, but the goal of both was one and the same scent profile. For the 2004 batch, only sinking grade carving dust was used; the 2005 batch focused more on the technique, since gathering enough of the sinking grade dust was already proving close to impossible. We did the best we could, and the 2005 batch is a close runner up if not an identical re-run of the same oil.

Wah......Subanallah....
You are blessed to have experienced so many of those.
That is very valuable, thank you brother.
Hindis were my starting point into this realm, but all of a different calibre than what most friendly brothers and sisters discuss here.
If I have a question about a particular Hindi, I will certainly ask you if you have the time.
At the moment I'm a bit stunned by the list.
If I were a gambling man, I'd run out and play the lotto!

Don't play the lotto, brother... We're about to drop an atom bomb on that list of Hindis (yes, including all of mine). As discussed on the Dark Side thread... two words: Chugoku Senkoh.

OUD will never smell the same, not just Hindis.

Blessed Friday, everyone! :)

@Ensar Al Enzo Ferrari so I guess you'll be hitting us with some more of those F50, 488GTB's, 456 Maranello's, 812 Superfast, GTC Lusso's, Vintage 375MM Scaglietti's.... you get the idea. If Chugoku Senkoh is the "Chindian/Hindinese" base notes left, right and center oil, that you've been playing with my emotions with, I'm patiently waiting.

Wow! Quite the duo you've got there! ;)

Nope, not Nha Trang. Laos border. Part of me genuinely suspects the wood was actually hauled from over the border and is in fact pure Pusong (especially given the recent side-by-sides with the – ahem! – "Bhanny Kinam") but of course we gave the wood dude the benefit of the doubt, being a trusted source for years.

You're not alone in thinking the Nha Trang LTD is akin to Kinam. Taha also thought it was a pure kinam extract when he first smelled it....

If you really want to know what I think.... Kynam No 1 is pure sinensis (possibly kinam-bearing tree; again, Taha even debated the point with me: "You must've distilled a kinam tree without even realizing it!...") while Nha Trang is some rare miracle species we never harvested before or since.... To me, it surpasses even Kinam in its breathtaking beauty...
Yes, an amazing duo!!! And I have to agree, Nha Trang LTD may be the most beautiful thing I've ever came across. I mean seriously, I am a good 8 hours in and it is still crazy delicious.

"Bhanny Kinam" -:eek::eek: - I surely hope you have a bottle stowed away for me :p:p:p! And very interesting on the Kynam No 1 theory.

Classic post OAL!! I sure would like some of the Bhanny Kinam!

This morning is AA day. Samrosa and Tan XIang No 1. The sandalwood is just heavenly. The beautiful top notes are so unique with a luscious drydown. I think this is by far be best recently distilled sandalwood oil I have tried, and by far. Is is gorgeous and a perfume onto itself. I still LOVE the vintage oils like SR and Laosan 99, and M84, but the airiness and beautiful floral top of the Tan is sublime.

@Ensar how much better was the raw material for version 1 compared to version 2? What was the total yield for both? I know it was long ago so if you don't remember its understandable. today i'm wearing Shano Shokat.

Chamkeila today. Deep , rich and pleasant, top to base.

Oud Mostafa 5 today from what's left of my
Sample vial :(. For someone who is still a bit scared of Hindis, there is something about his that makes me dig my nose into wrist again and a again!
I used to fear the funk as well. Interestingly, after trying out Taha's hindis, I'm able to appreciate proper funk now.

This is one of the answers Sidi Ensar said about Oudh Mustafa 5:

"It's no Cambodi, and neither is it Hindi.
You don't pick up any barn with the traditional Indian flavor - rather. No straight barny funk, nor pure woods, but rather it's the sheer oudy oomph that hits you… and that's what makes Oud Mostafa No 5 such a no-holding-back OUD oil."

Personally it's not like any Oudhs that I have. The barn which you smell is slowly and gently pushed to you, whereas some other oils people will run away from. But as you said this is something which your nose comes back to again and again without getting tired at all. Fantastic and a beautiful Oudh.
