I finally got my bottle of Sultan Salman! I was driving back from a 5 hour trip hoping not to get a speeding ticket! Came home and wait straight for the DHL package. Upon opening the bottle I first took a deep breath and and had a nice sniff of the top part of the bottle. Oh my where did the tiredness go of the long drive? It flew away on a instant after having smelled these beauty!
The clean crisp ocean air along with some untouched sand came to mind! I smelled again and got the special Walla Patta Oudiness which has become something very dear to me. I haven't even opened the bottle yet and I am deeply in love with this Oudh.
I don't know when I will be able to open it (Now that will be number 2 behind Chugoku Senkoh which I haven't opened yet either in the fear of using it up)
This is truly one of the best Oudhs I have come across and the wait was worth it. (Actually no I wanted it sooner but no more complaining on that)
Thank you Ensar for this magnificent Oudh!!

Agar Aura Sayed's Accent; unreleased Merauke,

The ultimate oud perfume and it's not a figurative speech, like a classic yet modern masculine perfume starts with piercing cola-laced suave birch tar/styrax-based smoky leather notes gradually creeps by delusional minimalistic cotton candy sweetness in the heartnotes that smooths and soothes the rugged yet refined edges of the topnotes and allow star anise, clove, lavender on background of vetiver, wood, oak moss, hint of patchouli, and powdery coumarin to shine giving an overall luxurious shaving cream-fougere-like aura that surrounds the wearer and to die for.

A cult following Gentleman scent...

They truly are a special type of wood. Very clean, very exotic/spicy, and something of chocolate/leather. One of the best Indian woods I have come across. Very soothing and relaxing!
QUOTE="kooolaid79, post: 9614, meIndeed... I got them too, amazing chips, delicious aroma !
The chips are super; mildly fragrant at room temp with clean, creamy, cocoa woody notes when gently heated.

That description is as awesome as the oil. The depth and scope of Ascent definitely put it an elite category.
Btw, the Syed's Succor, is 7-8/10 of the Ascent. Taha has outdone himself with these. I am truly amazed.

Oh, for a little oud trivia, ask Taha where the name came from. ;)

Sotn AA Lao Chen Xiang. Stunning soft musky fur. Soft green glow. Bittersweet chinese drydown. Smooth as butter. Oud finesse. What a superb representation of Laos. Subtle complexities that I am finally able to catch. I wish the top notes stayed a bit longer. This has to be my favourite from AA. I wish I could grab it in time. Too late.

Syed's Succor and Ascent are from the same tree! It's fun to have both and smell the difference. Now I can smell the different method and maybe the difference between a better part of the tree vs a less one.
Pretty educative.

By now I like more Ascent! But it's true they are very similar.

And for tonight I have on left Archipelago again vs Tigerwood 95.

Agar Aura Harita,
I thought I applied IO Sri Pada when I first sniffed the applied spot. I need to get back to SP and check later.

Green apple and sour fruits soaked in cardamom-flavored diluted black tea sweetened by few drops of honey and garnished with spearmint leaves, then served in a cup made of mahogany woody. The black tea turns into earl grey tea with a sprinkle of cinnamon, the sour fruit getting ripped, and mentholated incensy Walla Patta wood starts to dominate all the way to the bssenote and drydown in harmony.

The whole brew is wrapped up with AA crystalline airy signature without significant compromise to the longivity...Pretty oud.

When my girlfriend sniffed from the vial my samples of Harita today, she said green apple too!
But what I have on my left arm is Kalyani on left and Areej le dore - Ottoman empire on right.

@Ammar - that is an excellent and very accurate desrcription of Harita. Thanks!

Today, I got a little package from Zak at Agarwood Assam. The first oil sampled is Lushai Hills 92. This has to be one of the most unusual Hindi Ouds I have encountered. It does not smell like a traditional Hindi barn oil, not does it smell like the prototypical 'non barn' Hindi Oud either. This is clearly a well aged oil without any harsh notes. It has a very smoooooth, soft peppery opening and a dry hay heart. The animalic notes only whisper after an hour or so. A soft white floral scent is tempered with faint burning incense. A stately, classy and elegant oud. It conjures images of a freshly mowed field in the summertime, with scattered light flowers beginning to bloom, the sun shining brightly.

This oil has opened a new corridor to my Hindi oud journey. A style I have been unfamiliar with until now and I am blessed to be able to experience. Thank you Zakir for sharing this beauty!

China Sayang today. Opens like the finest wood aroma possible with Ouds. Pristine. Crystal clear. The first sniff is like dropping in an ocean of ancient oud sea. Imagine ancient chinese wood resin which has turned to pulp. Like a chocolaty balm sprinkled with aged hindi leathery funk. Marvellous Opening. I am astonished to find this Agallocha element in Sinensis. What a divine fusion ! Now the green incensy balsam shows up with hints of bittersweet smoke which Oud lovers crave. Its not diabetic at all. Infact its rather tuqoise in olfactory colors and opaque in nature as compared to slightly fuzzy green menthol of Burmese Oils. Development is mesmerising throwing the natural shades of wild Oud spectrum. The oil has raw power even though its smooth as butter which I feel is Ensar trademark. The raw nuances of Oud have been preserved very well. No over the top fancy tweaks IMHO. Oil distillation is supreme with a pristine clarity. I am grabbing a bottle before I post this review. I am finally convinced that my beloved Hainan 2005 has been dethroned. There is artisanal oud and then there is Ensar oud. This suits my Oud taste exactly and its my new benchmark. Ensar Bhai may God shower you with more strength and love. Bravo.

Ok, now I'm worried you're going to think I'm stalking you. But yet again we agree 1000%. China Sayang has a quality to it that is so mind-numbingly piercing and pristine. CS is my dream bottle for now outside of the Legends/Sultan series.

Hahahahaha. Not at all respected sir. I am glad we are both able to come to this conclusion. I will be honest I have been late to the party and really don't think I can afford Old Legends for my collection. But this is something special. I have not sniffed an oil like this honestly.

CS is my favorite of the two (CS and H2005), until I try H2005 and then that one becomes my favorite. Lol
