Dang Josh! Thank you for the write up! Can't wait to try this one!

Today is Oud Isa from Ensar. Beautiful aged incensy hindi oil. These EO old Hindi oils are a treasured part of my collection. The depth and complexity is truly special.

Hi Doc! I remember Oud Isa, it was the first bottle you showed me. I remember taking a deep breath and you just looked and smiled saying quietly to yourself "exactly" :)

Oh I think you'll be delighted! The scent progression is really awesome - it's just a long journey full of olfactory delights..

Oud Isa - that one and Oud Nuh are high on my list - Ensar's Hindi oils are superb - tried Oud Hud for the first time last night - wow, what a dignified and colorful Hindi! It has the barnyard elements so well balanced, they don't dominate the whole experience, allowing a variety of other wonderful notes to be enjoyed..

SOTD for me is Tokusen Tai (AA) - loving this one as well, certainly not your typical Thai oil - like many of Taha's oils, this one is like modern or postmodern art, with exceptional refinement and detail, a work of art that will take many experiences to fully understand..

As our holy month of Ramadan commenced last night, it was the first night of special prayers we perform every night of Ramadan. As I was getting out of my car heading towards the Masjid (Mosque) I applied the beautiful Jing Shen Lu. All I can say is that the whole prayer from beginning till end went very smoothly like cruise control. The Oudh had a part in making that happen, and I am very grateful!

You will LOVE Nuh and Hud! Both are incredible and absolutely worth getting.

Ah, the Tokusen. Incredible stuff from top to bottom. I think i will put that on tonight when i go out. These latest oils fro Taha are almost 3D in their profiles and scent progression.

For the first day of Ramadan I decided to swipe some Assam Kinam - EO. When I first smelt it I thought it was classic hindi all the way, but a friend of mine pointed out something different. I think I'm finally starting to understand, but I can't yet describe it.

I'd like to hear more about this Assam Kinam, I see it is from Meghalaya, does it share any commonalities with Oud Nuh or Oud Isa? How is it?

I have only tried Assam Kinam and Oud Nuh a couple of times, as I only have sample vials of them given to me by very generous friends. Because of my lack of experience with the oils and minimal encounters with them, I'm afraid I'm not the best suited person to answer this question.

What I can say is, where Oud Nuh has more fruity undertones behind the indolic Hindi aroma, Assam Kinam boasts a strong smooth indolic Hindi base, but as it proceeds to the drydown, the oil shows hints of a light mineral undertone (almost similar to a mineral note apparent in Sultan Murad, albeit very very light).

Take this with a grain of salt (maybe a pound), as I'll need more wears with both oils and this comparison is just from my memory.

I haven't had the opportunity to try Oud Isa though, nsha'Allah in the future.:D

@Alkhadra Ramadan Mubarak, Jazak Allah Khayr

I'm wearing an oil I have a sample of that the label has come off and speaking of Oud Isa, I'm not sure if the oil is a Borneo oil or Oud Isa. It projects well but not as well as Oud Isa so I'm leaning towards it being a Borneo. Whatever it is it's an excellent one.

Ramadan Mubarak to the Muslim brothers and sisters here, may your oud experiences be especially illuminating during this time :)

SOTD for me today is Maroke LTD (EO) on the left wrist, and Marokesh (FO) on the right - vibrant forest combo, most delightful..

Breaking my fast in İstanbul, amid wafts of expensive synthetics. A swipe of Kesiro Kinam is barely detectable on my wrist from many hours back.
