A very special deer musk-Mysore infusion from a friend (still chalk full of musk grains) and some Tan Xiang No1.

Earlier, Mukhdhir and Singgalang, both by IO. The former a Malaysian, the latter Sumatran.

This is one of the answers Sidi Ensar said about Oudh Mustafa 5:

"It's no Cambodi, and neither is it Hindi.
You don't pick up any barn with the traditional Indian flavor - rather. No straight barny funk, nor pure woods, but rather it's the sheer oudy oomph that hits you… and that's what makes Oud Mostafa No 5 such a no-holding-back OUD oil."

Personally it's not like any Oudhs that I have. The barn which you smell is slowly and gently pushed to you, whereas some other oils people will run away from. But as you said this is something which your nose comes back to again and again without getting tired at all. Fantastic and a beautiful Oudh.
I DO need to wear it more. It is fantastic.

Oud Mostafa 5 today from what's left of my
Sample vial :(. For someone who is still a bit scared of Hindis, there is something about his that makes me dig my nose into wrist again and a again!
I feel your pain, brother. :(
I'm down to scraping the lid of the OM5 sample cap with a toothpick; which actually remains fragrant for many many days.
I keep that toothpick handy, just incase I need a reminder.
Be brave! Embrace the Hindis, they'll be a great friend in the years to come.
A legend amongst super heroes.

No SOTD today except 'FL hospital'

Wishing everyone here a relaxing soul cake Tuesday, hope the duck visited you all.

Hope to be back in PA in a week and enjoying Oud once again, the docs have a strange definition of conservative treatment...

I hope to contribute again soon, missed you all.
Yes get well soon Sir Robert! Your health is most important. The Oudhs will be waiting for you!

Today, I need something deep and transportive; I thought about Oud Nuh, but I haven't opened my bottle and don't know if/when I will. Then I thought about Oud Yunus, but I haven't opened my bottle and don't know if/when I will. Then I thought about Lalitya, but that's too expansive and enlivening and I want to relax. What to wear, what to wear....Then it hit me, Shano Shokat, deep, introspective, calming, peaceful and patient, just like Sidi Taha.

@PEARL This is what I noticed about @Taha 's oils...

They are like very calm and deliberate meditations on particular themes, which one has to very slowly and carefully study. This as opposed to Ensar's symphonic orchestrations which hit you with all their harmony and layers almost immediately. (I'm being overly schematic of course but I think the general point stands).

But truly, after spending about three weeks going between Chamkeila and Kalyani...I absolutely adore those meditations. It really feels like a study session where I have to clear my mind and explore all the nuances. It's a calming and therapeutic few minutes I have with them most nights.

I particularly love Kalyani, which is just sweet heart note after sweet heart note. I don't know how to describe it, but I've hardly ever felt so drawn to the heart of an oil before, where I just want to abide there and dwell amidst the honey and woods. It is truly one of my favourite ouds.

Ah, those are some choices! I adore all the ones you mentioned but all my bottles have already been opened. Shano being the most peaceful and introspective is right on the money. Really great oil. Have a blessed day!

Haven't really had a chance to try Shano but heard many great things about this oil! Many congratulations to you, pearl, and everyone else who acquired this beautiful Oudh!

I agree 100%. Kalyani is extremely addictive. I think there is something about the richness of the heart notes. All 3 of Taha's recent Hindi's seem to have this quality. I was really surprised how much I crave Mehabali as well. Taha's recent oils seem to have more of the heart note to base note emphasis while retaining the top notes. I really like and prefer his newer oils for this quality.
