Au Luong. I thought I lost this bottle. I turned my house upside down looking for it. I searched under the seats in my car. Weeks passed and I instituted an “oud bottles never leave the bedroom” policy. And in fact it turned out that the Au Luong never did leave the bedroom. It was right on top of my dresser in a little tray where I keep the attars and tinctures I’m actively using. So I’m wearing it now but when I sniff my arm, all I can smell is big dummy. No, I’m just joking. It’s quite strong and high-pitched. Floral perfumed gasoline. A tiny trace of wood, or maybe it’s an undercurrent of ORSL. Mostly though, this oud hits me behind the eyeballs- tamarinds and kumquats soaking in acetone. I think Taha would rightly tell me I have more work to do on this one. Which I will do. Assuming I don’t lose it again. Big dummy.
